YIP Kai Chun
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Yip Kai Chun explores topics of cultural identity, fading heritage and under-recognised communities through workshops, events, sound, text and video works. Stemming from his family background, his recent works focus on Hakka culture and language, and Yip has conducted research on these topics in and outside Hong Kong. He is a co-founder of the Inter-Island Festival, which celebrates the art, traditions, and the natural, rural and urban environment of outlying islands in Hong Kong, including Cheung Chau, Chi Ma Wan, Mui Wo and Peng Chau.
